Every historic site has to have a ghost story. Our story first surfaced in July of 2005.

A visitor to the mill was in the gorge taking pictures of the water falls. He noticed the falls coming out of the side of the gorge below the house and on further investigation saw the near by tunnel with tracks that also comes out of the side of the gorge near that falls.

The next day he sent an email message to the mills web site asking for more information on the tunnel. What it was and why was it there. I told him it had been used to move talus from the tunnels that were built for 36' now 54" pipes that take water into the city. I also told him it was very near the spot where the grandson of Wilson Morningstar and the caretaker of the property for the city, Don Robson fell to his death.

The following is his email back to me along with the photo John

Hi John, In light of your story of Don Robson, I thought I would share a story with you in regards of the photo I took of the tunnel entry. I will start with the time of my taking the photo............ As I stood there in front of the entry, I could feel the cool air coming from the underground darkness and settling around my ankles. Which I thought was a little eerie, but at the same time very normal considering the temperature was about 30 degrees Celsius, with a humidex pushing 40 degrees. Though, I was not about to venture in. The next day while downloading the photos to my computer for resizing, I noticed three spots on the tunnel entry photo. Being a rather skeptical person I just dismissed this as water droplets or dust on the camera lens. So during the following day I emailed the photo to work for fun. To my surprise one of my co-workers is quite the believer in the paranormal. She stated that the spots were orbs, which are apparently spirits of people who had untimely deaths. Then you emailed me with the story about Wilson Morningstar's Grandson falling to his death near the tunnel entry. I still remain very skeptical of this type of phenomenon, but I thought it could make a great story of interest for those who do believe.

Yours ........
