Morningstar Mill is a small, rural industrial heritage site owned by the City of St. Catharines and operated in partnership with the Friends of Morningstar Mill. It features a working grist mill built in 1872, a turbine shed, a sawmill, a blacksmith and carpentry shop and the historic home of the Morningstar family. The Mill provides a rare glimpse back in time to when moving water was used to mechanically grind grain into flour.

On August 23, 2014, beginning at about 10:30 am, we will be milling a hard white winter wheat called 'White Bear'. It was grown
in Ontario and has a protein content of 12.5%. It is an excellent flour for bread-making.
Our last milling dates for the year are October 18 and October 19, 2014.
We still have Western wheat flour and Ontario-grown hard red spring wheat flour - the variety is called 'Wilkin' - available while supplies last.
2lb bags of flour are available for a suggested donation of $3.
please call or email us, we are looking out for people interested in giving tours of the mill and house, cataloguing and research.
please call 905-688-5600 for more information.
